Firelands WarHawks 10U Select stole the lead in the 3rd inning of the game in en route to a 18-8 victory over SWAT on Saturday. The game was tied at five with Firelands WarHawks 10U Select batting in the bottom of the third when Connor Smith singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

There was plenty of action on the basepaths as Firelands WarHawks 10U Select collected 16 hits and SWAT had two.

Firelands WarHawks 10U Select opened up scoring in the first inning on a stolen base during Memphis McKenzies at bat. Then Memphis blasted a double to the fence, driving in one.

SWAT scored three runs in the fourth inning.  Oesch, Ferdinandsen, and Johnson all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

AJ Crabtree got the start for Firelands WarHawks 10U Select surrenduring 3 unearned runs.

Kern toed the rubber for SWAT. He lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing 11 hits and 12 runs while striking out three.  Egbert threw two-thirds of an inning out of the bullpen.

Firelands WarHawks 10U Select racked up 16 hits in the game.  Waylon Blair, AJ Crabtree, Blake Brenner, and Connor Smith all collected multiple hits for Firelands WarHawks 10U Select.  Waylon went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Firelands WarHawks 10U Select in hits.  Firelands WarHawks 10U Select tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases.

The WarHawks face off against SWAT again at 12:30 tomorrow. The winner advances to the championship.
