Firelands WarHawks 10U Select watched the game slip away in a 25-7 loss to Premier Ohio on Saturday.

Firelands WarHawks 10U Select collected five hits and Premier Ohio had 20 in the high-scoring affair.

Premier Ohio got things started in the first inning when Coffie singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Firelands WarHawks 10U Select notched five runs in the fourth inning.  Firelands WarHawks 10U Select big bats were led by AJ Crabtree, Connor Smith, Max Jacobs, Sam Oprzadek, and Memphis McKenzie, all driving in runs in the inning.

Just as the WarHawks nearly tied the game at 6-7, Premier Ohio scored 11 runs in the sixth inning to blow the game wide open. Premier Ohio’s big inning was driven by walks by Fenton, Cerovac, and Tamosiunas, doubles by Coffie, Pesch, and Perkins, singles by Coffie and Iacobacci, and an error on a ball put in play by Tamosiunas.

Fenton led things off on the mound for Premier Ohio. He allowed one hit and one run over two innings, striking out two and walking one.

Colt Flores led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Firelands WarHawks 10U Select. He allowed six hits and seven runs over two innings, striking out three and walking one.  Weston Hoover, Max Jacobs, and AJ Crabtree each contributed in relief for Firelands WarHawks 10U Select.

Weston led Firelands WarHawks 10U Select with two hits in two at bats.  Blake Brenner led Firelands WarHawks 10U Select with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases.
