Big Fifth Inning Propels Firelands WarHawks 10U Select In A Win Over The Norwalk Lefty Grove Legends

WarHawks scored nine runs in the fifth on its way to a 14-1 victory over Norwalk Lefty Grove Legends on Tuesday.

The rally was led by singles from Weston Hoover and Blake Brenner and a massive home run by Max Jacobs that knocked in 3 rbi’s.

Firelands WarHawks opened up scoring in the first inning. Weston hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring one run.

Weston also got the start for Firelands WarHawks 10U Select. He lasted one inning, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out two and walking one.

Izaac toed the rubber for Norwalk Lefty Grove Legends. He allowed seven hits and six runs over four innings, striking out seven. Gabe and Kian entered the game as relief, throwing two-thirds of an inning and one-third of an inning respectively.

Firelands WarHawks 10U Select tallied 12 hits lead by the currently red hot Waylon Blair who went 3 for 3 and is batting 1000% over the past 3 games. Colt Flores, Weston Hoover, and Blake Brenner all managed multiple hits for Firelands WarHawks 10U Select.

The WarHawks will now turn their focus to this weekends tournament in Huron Ohio.
